Oklahoma vs. Tulsa – Game Time, TV Schedule, Line, Preview, Predictions
Despite a relatively underwhelming performance from quarterback Trevor Knight, one which saw the Heisman hopeful go 19-for-34 for 253 yards with a touchdown and an interception, Oklahoma blasted Louisiana Tech, 48-16. All things considered, it was the performance you would expect from a team with hopes of winning its conference and the national title.
This week, the Sooners will take on an intriguing opponent: Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane played in the best game that you didn't watch during week one, taking down Tulane, 38-31, in double overtime, thanks to a huge performance from quarterback Dane Evans, who threw for 438 yards and four touchdowns. This should be a great test for the Sooners' defense - especially its secondary - as it will go against a team that wants to throw the ball all over the field.

Prediction: While Oklahoma should win, Tulsa's high-powered offense may be able to put up some points. When the two teams met last year, the Golden Hurricane were able to hang 20 on the Sooners in Norman, and accumulated 321 yards. Of course, once Oklahoma turned on the jets, it got ugly, and the Sooners won 51-20.
We'll expect the same thing this year. Tulsa will have some success early on against Bob Stoops' Sooners, but once Oklahoma figures out the right way to defend the high-powered Golden Hurricane offense, we think it eventually turns into a blowout and Knight bounces back in a big way. There are some questions about Tulsa's defense, and Oklahoma is among the most talented teams in America. Give us the Sooners to win. We'd be shocked if they don't cover as well.
