4-Star Recruit Flips Commitment From Tennessee To Florida

On Friday night, four-star cornerback Mordecai McDaniel announced major news regarding his collegiate career. Instead of playing for the Tennessee Volunteers, he's flipping his commitment to the Florida Gators.
McDaniel is the No. 333 overall recruit and No. 24 cornerback from the 2020 class, per 247Sports. He originally committed to Tennessee back in August.
While it appears that Tennessee football is trending in the right direction with how the Volunteers finished the season, the four-star defensive back decided to decommit last week. It didn't take very long for him to commit to another program.
The senior cornerback from St. John's College High School revealed his latest decision on social media.
"Though I really appreciate everything that Tennessee have offered me," Mordecai McDaniel wrote on Twitter. "I must follow my heart and with that being said...I would like to say that I will be attending the University of Florida."

According to 247Sports' recruiting rankings, the Gators have the No. 6 class in the country. Dan Mullen has a total of 24 hard commits at the moment, which includes the recent addition of McDaniel.
Even though Mullen doesn't have a single five-star recruit, he's landed 16 four-star commits.
Florida nearly won the SEC East this year and appears loaded heading into the offseason.
