Utah Kicker Andy Phillips To NCAA: "My Teammates And I Would Also Like To Profit From Our Hard Work"
It is little surprise that many college athletes believe that they should be allowed to make money as college athletes. Few have expressed that desire quite as directly as Utah kicker Andy Phillips. In what appears to be an unprompted message, Phillips tweeted at the NCAA this afternoon, expressing his opinion on the hot button issue.
">@NCAA My teammates and I would also like to profit from our hard work and support our families #ncaa#change#StudentAthlete

Phillips also doesn't believe his role as kicker diminishes his ability to make the argument.

">@NCAA that depends on what defines value. For example, I scored 41 more points than Booker. So if points define it, yes.

We're not sure how much Phillips' voice will add to the ongoing discussion, but we can bet that he won't be the last player to speak out about this debate.
