Andrew Wiggins Watch: Is The Canadian Superstar Waiting Longer Than Other No. 1 Recruits Have To Make His Decision?

Or is this normal?

We're just nine days out from the late period commitment deadline, and all eyes are still on Andrew Wiggins. The Canadian prep star has narrowed his choices down to UNC, Kansas, Kentucky and Florida State.

According to his Huntington Prep head coach, Rob Fulford, Wiggins will make a decision by May 15. But no one, including Fulford, knows exactly when Wiggins will announce where he'll be suiting up in 2013-2014.

With Wiggins taking so long to make a decision, we started to wonder if any other No. 1 recruits (according to had waited until May to choose where they'd play basketball in the fall.

Here's what we found:

2005: Josh McRoberts committed to Duke on September 16, 2003.

2006: Greg Oden committed to Ohio State on June 29, 2005.

2007: O.J. Mayo committed to the USC on November 15, 2006.

2008: Brandon Jennings committed to Arizona on May 22, 2007.

2009: Derrick Favors committed to Georgia Tech on January 14, 2009.

2010: Harrison Barnes committed to North Carolina on November 13, 2009.

2011: Anthony Davis committed to Kentucky on August 13, 2010.

2012: Nerlens Noel committed to Kentucky on April 11, 2012.

So as we thought, Andrew Wiggins will be the first No. 1 recruit in recent years to wait until May to make his commitment. Of course, Wiggins reclassified to the Class of 2013 this past October, so he hasn't had as much time as his peers to make a decision. Still, the process has become agonizing for fans of the four teams desiring his services.

We'll all have an answer soon enough.
