Second Chance Against No. 1 Baylor Awaits WVU

A huge opportunity for WVU.

The West Virginia women's basketball team will get its second opportunity against No. 1 Baylor next Saturday.

In the first meeting in Waco, Texas, Brittney Griner's near triple-double (nine blocks) paved the way for BU. In the 76-58 victory, Baylor showed why it is the top-ranked team in the nation.

But the Mountaineers will be home this time around, hoping that a change of scenery can work wonders. The defending champions will be in Morgantown following some quality wins, including one versus No. 3 Connecticut this past Monday.

Up to this point in the season, the Lady Bears have yet to fall in a conference game. Head coach Kim Mulkey has done a wonderful job in leading this team in Big 12 play. It's not as difficult when you have Griner and one of the best point guards in the country with Odyssey Sims, however.

With its recent win over TCU, Baylor has clinched at least a share of the Big 12 Conference title. In the win over the Horned Frogs, BU extended its nation-leading streak to 53 home victories and 36 league victories. With a win over the Huskies, the Lady Bears have won 23 straight games.

Students need to show up big time for this game. Let's pack the Coliseum.
