Here’s what Tom Brady said about the president’s comments.
Tom Brady, who once had a Make America Great Again hat sitting in his locker, has commented on what Donald Trump said about the NFL.
The president had said the “sons of bitches” who kneel for the national anthem deserve to be suspended or kicked out of the league.
Several players knelt for The Star-Spangled Banner on Sunday, while a couple of teams even sat out for the anthem entirely.
Brady commented on Trump’s statements during his weekly appearance on WEEI’s Kirk & Callahan today.
“Yeah, I certainly disagree with what he said. I thought it was just divisive,” Brady said. “Like I said, I just want to support my teammates. I am never one to say, ‘Oh, that is wrong. That is right.’ I do believe in what I believe in. I believe in bringing people together and respect and love and trust.”
