A star rookie running back reportedly suffered a knee injury during the first half. Washington Redskins running back Derrius Guice is being evaluated for a knee injury.
Guice left the game against the New England Patriots early in the first half. The former LSU star raced out to a few nice runs before he sustained the injury.
Initial reports suggest the injury isn’t serious. It’s great news for the rookie, who is looking to fight for a starting job.
The Redskins have been searching for a dominant running back since Alfred Morris’ first season with the team. They might have it in the former Tiger.
Guice was reportedly checked out by the trainers and is now on the sideline. He appears to be in good spirits.
Guice is back up and walking around. Laughing. Smiling.

Guice had first-round talent entering the NFL draft process, but slid due to character concerns stemming from an alleged incident during his visit with the Eagles. Both parties denied any confrontation, but Guice still dropped to the mid-second round where Washington gobbled him up.
We’ll update his injury when more becomes known.
