Green Bay Packers superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers underwent successful shoulder surgery on Thursday.
Rodgers went down with a broken collarbone during the Packers loss to the rival Vikings last Sunday.
Now, there is a very good chance that he will miss the remainder of the Packers season, cutting short what looked like a potential MVP campaign.
He had surgery to repair his shoulder on Thursday, and it appears that things went well. After the operation, Rodgers posted to Instagram from his hospital bed.
It may be hard for Packers fans to “hang loose” without their star quarterback under center for the next few months, but there may be a slight chance that Rodgers could return for the playoffs. Of course, that would require Brett Hundley to lead the team to the post-season, which is a lot to ask for the first-time starter.
The Packers host the New Orleans Saints this weekend. It will be one of the rare weekends that Green Bay is an underdog at Lambeau Field, with the Saints laying 5.5 points in the match-up.
