On Sunday afternoon the Philadelphia Eagles clinched a spot in the NFC playoffs with a win over the Washington Redskins and a loss by the Minnesota Vikings to the Chicago Bears. Once again, the team entered the playoffs without Carson Wentz – who is sidelined due to injury.
Nick Foles led the Eagles to three-straight wins to close out the season and ensure a playoff spot. However, the latest win came at a cost.
Foles left the game against the Redskins with a rib injury.
Philadelphia can breath a collective sigh of relief, however, as Foles is expected to play this weekend.
#Eagles QB Nick Foles has bruised ribs and tests today revealed no break, sources tell me and @RapSheet. The expectation is he’s good to go Sunday vs. the #Bears. I’ll be joining @gmfb from Philly shortly.

Nick Foles took over as the team’s starting quarterback and led the team to a Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots. Foles was named the Super Bowl MVP during the win and will now get another shot at glory with the team.
The Eagles take on the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card round on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. ET on CBS.
