There are far better ways to celebrate a big football win than what one Florida-based Packers fan did on Sunday night.
The Packers went on the road and knocked off the Dallas Cowboys, thanks to some late-game heroics by star quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Two people in Vero Beach, one Cowboys and one Packers fan, made a bet on the game, that the winner would burn the other’s jersey.
Packers fan Timothy Salyers did just that to the jersey of Cowboys fan Brianna Hook, who had posted about the bet earlier in the day on Facebook.
Waiting on my beautiful girl to get out of work, then spending football Sunday the American way. Beers and wings 🤙🏽🍻🍗🏈…
Unfortunately, after lighting it on fire, Salyers decided to try and wear the jersey. It did not go well. From the Miami Herald:
While Hook’s Dallas jersey burned, according to a Indian River County Sheriff’s report gained by TC Palm, Salyers told deputies, “he then grabbed the jersey with his right arm and attempted to put it on while it was on fire.”
Hook took Salyers to a local medical center. TC Palm said the sheriff’s report described third-degree burns on Salyers right arm and hand and second-degree back burns.
Hook had quite the understatement after the incident.
Unfortunately burning the jersey went very bad so we weren’t able to Facebook live the event. The jersey did get burnt…
Hopefully Salyers makes a full recovery, and finds some better ways to celebrate upcoming Packers wins.
