Peterson is headed to a new team.
The first major trade of the 2017 NFL season has reportedly just happened.
According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, Adrian Peterson has been traded from the New Orleans Saints to the Arizona Cardinals.
Arizona will send a conditional pick to New Orleans for Peterson’s services.

New Orleans added Adrian Peterson during the 2017 offseason, but the 2012 MVP couldn’t get anything going during his time with the Saints, struggling to out-rep Mark Ingram and rookie Alvin Kamara.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals have struggled to run the ball since losing David Johnson earlier this year to a wrist injury. Peterson could help bridge the gap between now, and when Johnson returns later this season.
