It wouldn’t be a complete NFL offseason without some major rumors swirling regarding the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cowboys, the NFL franchise everyone seems to love to speculate about, are now the focal point of a juicy head coaching rumor.
Jason Garrett is Dallas’ head coach for 2019, though his future beyond this upcoming season is unclear. The Cowboys’ front office decided to not extend Garrett’s contract heading into 2019, leaving the door open for a head coaching change in 2020.
It appears at least one NFL quarterback thinks a big change could come.
Teddy Bridgewater is reportedly unsure if he wants to re-sign in New Orleans because of the possibility of Sean Payton leaving the Saints for the Cowboys.
“One question with Bridgwater staying in New Orleans on the hope of replacing Drew Brees is there is no guarantee Sean Payton will still be there as coach, per source close to the QB. Those Dallas rumors haven’t gone away and they have heard them,” Clarence Hill reports.

Payton, a former Cowboys’ assistant coach, has constantly been linked to the Dallas head coaching gig.
If Garrett and Co. have a disappointing 2019 season, it would not be surprising at all to see Jerry Jones make a big run at Payton.
