Tony Romo Getting Praised For Brilliant Call During Chiefs-Patriots

Tony Romo never made the conference championship game as a Dallas Cowboys quarterback, but he’s there as a broadcaster for CBS this evening.

The former star NFL quarterback is having a great game, too.

Romo has been awesome for much of this evening’s AFC Championship Game between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The lead CBS analyst’s best call came right before the Patriots’ game-leading touchdown run by . Sony Michel.

The Patriots went for it on 4th and 1, handing the ball off to Michel for a run off the right side, instead of going with a Tom Brady sneak.

The Chiefs’ defense didn’t see this coming, apparently, but Romo did. He predicted that Brady was calling an audible before the snap, saying a stretch run off the right side was coming.

“Oh, they’re killing it. Usually means a motion and a run out wide to the right.”

And it did.

The Patriots are now leading the Chiefs, 24-21, late in the fourth quarter. Kansas City now has the ball and is driving.

The finish of the Chiefs-Patriots AFC Championship Game can be seen on CBS. The winner will take on the Rams in the Super Bowl.
