Dalvin Cook set a rookie record tonight against the Saints.
In his debut NFL appearance, former Florida State RB Dalvin Cook racked up 127 yards on 22 carries—good enough for the Minnesota Vikings’ rookie rushing record in a season opener.
The original record-holder? None other than former Viking Adrian Peterson, who suited up against his old mates for the New Orleans Saints tonight.
Here’s Cook breaking the record as Peterson watches from the sidelines:

Cook was electric all night, averaging 5.8 yards per carry in the Vikings’ 29-19 dismantling of the Saints, and the performance makes it that much harder to believe he dropped all the way to the second round in the draft.
The Vikings take on the Steelers this Sunday.
