The Philadelphia Eagles’ season ended in heartbreaking fashion tonight, as they fell to the New Orleans Saints, 20-14, in the NFC’s Divisional Round.
The Eagles had a chance to take the lead late, as Philadelphia had the ball, driving into New Orleans’ territory, but a Nick Foles’ pass was picked off.
The pass was a good one, but it slipped through the hands of wide receiver Alshon Jeffery.
Jeffery, a standout wide receiver for the Eagles up until that drop, looked inconsolable on the sideline as the Saints’ ran out the clock.
Foles did his best to lift his teammate up, though.
“Gotta respect Nick Foles for consoling Alshon after the ball slipped through Jeffery’s hands,” CBS Sports tweeted.

FOX’s replays showed Foles speaking to Jeffery on the sideline.
“Hey..hey…I love you man…I love you,” Foles could be seen saying.
Jeffery had five catches for 63 yards in the loss to the Saints. He had 65 catches for 843 yards and 6 touchdowns during the regular season.
The Saints, meanwhile, will host the Rams in the NFC Championship Game next weekend.
