It's no secret that Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka aren't too fond of each other. After all, they took several jabs at each other on social media earlier this year.

Since the rivalry between DeChambeau and Koepka has been dialed up to 11, PGA Tour fans want to see them paired together for a major championship. With the U.S. Open set for this weekend, countless fans have stated they want to see that dream pairing become a reality.

Unfortunately, it sounds like an offer to play alongside Koepka was shot down by DeChambeau's team. At least that's what golf analyst Brad Faxon is reporting.

"The USGA did call Bryson DeChambeau and his agent and asked them if they would be OK with that, and Bryson declined," Faxon said on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio.

If this report from Faxon is true, it's a shame we won't get to see DeChambeau and Koepka in the same group as they try to make the cut for the weekend.

While this rivalry can get intense at times, Koepka admitted that he believes it's actually beneficial for the PGA Tour.

"Yeah, I think it’s good for the game. I really do,” Koepka said. “The fact that golf’s on pretty much every news outlet for about two weeks pretty consistently, I think that’s a good thing. It’s growing the game."

Hopefully, DeChambeau and Koepka find themselves toward the top of the leaderboard this weekend at Torrey Pines. That would make things really interesting, especially if it comes down to these two rivals.
