Photos: Meet The Wife Of PGA Championship Contender Scottie Scheffler
Scottie Scheffler won the 2022 Masters and immediately celebrated with his wife, Meredith Scudder.
Scheffler's win marked the culmination of a long journey for the couple, who met all the way back high school.
Scheffler is currently near the top of the leaderboard at this week's PGA Championship, which would be his second major title.
If he wins this week, it's likely he could celebrate with Scudder on the 18th green as he did at Augusta.
Scheffler and Scudder chose to continue their relationship after high school despite attending different colleges in Texas.
"As the pair set themselves up for University, Scheffler would be attending the University of Texas, whilst Scudder would be heading to University of Texas A&M," said Matt Cradock of Golf Monthly.
"Whilst at University, Scudder had a brief internship in Zambia. Despite the long-distance, the couple remained together and, in June 2020, Scheffler popped the question to Scudder whilst out on a hike at the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve."
Scudder can often be seen supporting her husband on the course, and she's been there for many of the biggest wins of his career over the years.
Scudder has been Scheffler's caddie in the annual Masters Par 3 tournament for the past two years, a good luck charm that led to a win in 2022.
Scheffler will attempt to pick up the win at Oak Hill this weekend.
