A photo of Tiger Woods arriving at the course this morning ahead of his first round at the BMW Championship is going viral on social media.
Woods, 43, is hoping to rebound from a disappointing showing at The Northern Trust last week, when he withdrew from the tournament due to back issues.
The 2019 Masters champion is feeling better this week, though, and he appears to be ready to go.
Woods showed up at the course this morning looking ready.
Woods says he is feeling "way better" ahead of this week's tournament.
"Way, way better,'' Woods said this week. "It was nice to take those days off and let it calm down and get a bunch of treatment on it. It feels so much better. I played the front nine today and played quite well. It was nice to see. Took the back nine off, chipped and putted quite a bit. It feels a lot better than it did on Friday.''
Woods said that back issues are unfortunately something he just has to deal with now.
"As I've said before, the forces have got to go somewhere, and unfortunately, when I make any kind of tweaks and changes to my swing, it's like a new body part is aching,'' he said. "Unfortunately I can't play around the back like I used to, and unfortunately things flare up.''
Woods needs a good showing in the BMW Championship in order to advance in the FedEx Cup. Current projections have him needing to finish at 11th or better.
The 15-time major champion is set to tee off at 12:54 p.m. E.T.
The tournament will be televised on Golf Channel and NBC.
