In his prime, Tiger Woods was one of the most dominant athletes of all time.

A serial winner who transcended his own sport, the question with Tiger was often how wide his margin of victory would be rather than if he would win a given tournament.

A series of injuries and personal battles may have ended Tiger's run as the undisputed king of golf, but for those who experienced his prime as it happened, many will tell you there was simply no one better.

One stat making the rounds on social media on Saturday supports that theory.

With Rory McIlroy in contention for the RBC Canadian Open this weekend, he has the chance to win the event for the third time in a row. That led fans to a list of the three-peats on the PGA Tour over the last 40 years.

The other two golfers to win three of the same event in a row all only did it at one event.

Tiger Woods did it at six different events, and he won two of them four times in a row.

Woods is currently tied with Sam Snead for the most official PGA Tour events won with 82. If he's able to win just one more tournament before he retires, he will officially be the winningest golfer of all time.

Definitely one of the most dominant athletes of all time.
