Army Accepts Invitation To Play In Armed Forces Bowl

Army is the first team locked into a bowl game.

There are a number of bowl-eligible teams eight weeks into the 2017 college football season, but now, we've got a team locked into its postseason game. Army, after notching its sixth win of the season on Saturday, accepted a bowl bid.

Army knocked off Temple in overtime on Saturday, 31-28, and now sits at 6-2 on the season. To the Armed Forces Bowl the Black Knights will go.

Why so early? Army actually is contracted to play in the Armed Forces Bowl this season. Once they reached six wins, it became official. Who will they play? A team from the Big Ten.

Congrats to Army. Becoming bowl eligible in mid-October is a great accomplishment.
