3-Year-Old Daughter Of BYU RB Coach Reno Mahe Passes Away

Absolutely horrible news out of BYU this morning.

The three-year-old daughter of BYU running backs coach Reno Mahe passed away Tuesday night, one week after a tragic accident. Last week, Elsie Mahe, one of Reno and wife Sunny's seven children, was found hanging from a set of blinds in the family's home.

Elsie Mahe fought for her life for several days, but her condition continued to worsen, and the family began preparing for organ donation.

On Tuesday, Reno Mahe, a former BYU star and NFL running back, posted a series of heartbreaking photos and captions on his Instagram page.

Mahe's wife, a former BYU volleyball star, also confirmed the awful news on Facebook.

CollegeFootballTalk has the transcription:

Our Elsie girl has officially been released to heaven – at least from a worldly, paperwork stand point. Her second neurological death exam was also positive for brain death.
We feel peace and we are again so grateful for the privilege of being Elsie’s parents. She continues to sprinkle love and hope across the world and I am in awe of the Lord and His marvelous plan for my sweet girl.

We will be working closely with the donation team for the next couple of days, so we have a few days to postpone making funeral plans. But as those dates and decisions are made, we will keep you informed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mahe family. We can't even fathom what they are going through.
