ESPN College GameDay was at Coastal Carolina on Saturday ahead of the program’s huge impromptu matchup against BYU. One of the school’s most famous alums was the guest picker, but many were not impressed with his performance.
PGA star golfer Dustin Johnson, who is fresh off of winning The Masters, was tabbed to represent the program as the show’s celebrity guest picker. But he didn’t really bring too much energy. Many college football fans expected a little more.
Johnson, ahead of the picks portion of the broadcast, was asked by host Rece Davis what it’s like to wear the famous green jacket. He gave a four-word answer that led to an awkward pause on set.
During the picks, Johnson gave a rather lackluster answer when asked if he was picking Coastal Carolina or BYU.

It’d be fair to wonder if the moment was too big for Johnson, but, you know, he just won The Masters. It was a strange performance from the world’s No. 1 golfer.
Johnson played for Coastal Carolina before turning professional in 2007. He’s now won 24 tournament events on the PGA Tour, including two majors.
Coastal Carolina vs. BYU is set to kick off at 5:30 PM ET on ESPNU.
