A day ahead of National Signing Day 2019, Seth McGowan, an elite 2020 running back, has named the eight schools that stand out in his recruitment.
McGowan stars for Poteet High School in Mesquite, Texas. On the season, according to MaxPreps, he ran for 1,614 yards on 218 carries, and found the end zone an impressive 25 times. The team went 8-3 on the year, a two-win improvement from his sophomore varsity season.
Right now, from his home state, only Texas A&M is involved in this list of his “elite eight schools.” Baylor, SMU, TCU, Texas, and Texas Tech have all extended scholarship offers as well.
The SEC is well represented otherwise, with Alabama, Georgia, and LSU cracking the list.
Recruiting powers Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and USC round out the list.
Seth McGowan announced the top eight schools via Twitter on Tuesday morning.

247Sports ranks McGowan as the No. 109 recruit in the 2020 class overall. There are no crystal ball predictions logged for him just yet.
He’s the No. 10 running back and No. 16 recruit in the Lone Star State. Per the site, he has 27 scholarship offers in total, so plenty of teams are high on the Poteet High School star.
