Alex Flanagan Will No Longer Be Part Of NBC's Notre Dame Coverage

Notre Dame fans who've grown accustomed to watching NBC's Alex Flanagan do the sideline report for the Irish every fall will tune in to watch their opening game against Rice on August 30th and be disappointed. Flanagan, as first reported by Jason McIntyre of The Big Lead, will no longer be part of the broadcast. She also won't appear on the network's Sunday Night Football pregame show.

Flanagan herself addressed the situation Wednesday night, tweeting out the news to her followers.

According to McIntyre, it's not yet known who will replace Flanagan, but the candidates are Julie Donaldson, Liam McHugh, and Carolyn Manno. Her replacement on Sunday Night Football will be Josh Elliott.
