Notre Dame's passing game gained a new weapon on Monday.
Arizona State graduate transfer wide receiver Cameron Smith will finish his college career in South Bend.
Notre Dame announced the addition of Smith on Monday night. He is eligible immediately for the 2017 season.
Here's the tweet revealing the news.
Smith missed the entire 2015 season with a knee injury, but was a productive player for the Sun Devils in 2013-14 and last fall. He appeared in 30 games (18 starts), making 60 receptions for 908 yards and six TDs.
In two career games against Notre Dame, he hauled in six passes for 65 yards and a touchdown.
Smith, along with another graduate transfer, Michigan's Freddy Canteen, provide added depth at wideout for the Irish. Leading receiver Equanimeous St. Brown (58-961-9) is back, as is promising sophomore Kevin Stepherson and the shifty C.J. Sanders. More is expected from big targets Chase Claypool and Miles Boykin.
