Notre Dame WR Braden Lenzy Didn't Travel To Georgia

Notre Dame needs all the help it can get for tonight's huge game against Georgia in Athens. Brian Kelly will be without an explosive wide receiver, as sophomore Braden Lenzy did not make the trip.

Earlier in the week, Lenzy somewhat cryptically tweeted that he was "beyond frustrated." It is pretty clear why, now.

Lenzy is the only major absence from Notre Dame's travel roster for this game in Athens. It sounds like he's dealing with some sort of injury.

Lenzy is coming off of a strong performance in ND's 66-14 win over New Mexico. He caught a pair of passes for 74 yards and a touchdown, and had one carry for 14 yards. He did not record any stats in ND's opener at Louisville. He did not play as a freshman last season.

Braden Lenzy was a four-star member of Notre Dame's 2018 recruiting class.

We're just minutes away from the kickoff of this week's biggest game between the Fighting Irish and Bulldogs. Georgia enters this one at No. 3 overall, while Notre Dame is ranked No. 7 in the country. You wouldn't think both were top 10 squads though, per the betting line. UGA has been tabbed as a 14.5-point favorite by bookmakers, so the Dawgs are pretty big favorites here. The game will be broadcast on CBS.

Notre Dame is 0-2 all-time vs. Georgia. They fell 17-10 in the 1981 Sugar Bowl, and then the first side of this home-and-home back in 2017, a dramatic 20-19 loss in South Bend.
