Four-star tight end Cane Berrong is a highly-touted tight end who has been making visits to top schools across the United States. But on Friday, he announced where he will be playing college football in 2021.

Taking to Twitter, Berrong announced that he would be committing to the University of Notre Dame. The announcement comes after several months of unofficial visits to such schools as Ohio State, Alabama, FSU, and Miami (FL).

God. Country. Notre Dame.

I am beyond blessed and excited to announce that I am committed to The University of Notre Dame to further my academic and athletic career.

247Sports rates Berrong as the No. 123 overall prospect in the country. He is the No. 2 tight end in the nation, and the No. 13 prospect from the state of Georgia.

Berrong's commitment gives Notre Dame five players in the Class of 2021, second behind only Miami. All five of Notre Dame's recruits are four-star players or better.

Tight ends play a big factor in Brian Kelly's offense. Notre Dame has historically produced a number of big-time tight ends that have gone on to NFL careers historically, and under Kelly in the last few years.

The coaching staff's efforts have paid off though as Berrong's commitment in 2021 will mark the second year in a row that Notre Dame will have a top-two tight end joining the team.

Notre Dame's Class of 2020 even holds the distinction of having both of the top two tight ends in the class.

Look out Iowa: Notre Dame might be trying to wrest the title of Tight End U from you!
