Clemson's Dabo Swinney Kind Of Went Off On Notre Dame, How Fighting Irish Only Play 12 Games

Clemson and Notre Dame will meet at Memorial Stadium on Saturday to play one of the most-anticipated games of the college football season. Both teams are undefeated and ranked in the top 12. It's a night contest. ESPN's College GameDay will broadcast from the Tigers' campus.

It's going to be a lot of fun.

Would it be more fun if Notre Dame was a true member of the ACC? The Fighting Irish are a part of the conference in other sports, but not for football.

Clemson's Dabo Swinney was asked about Notre Dame's affiliation with the conference today. Here's his response.

Yes, it'd be nice if Notre Dame was a member of a conference, and it'd be nice if the Fighting Irish played 13 games, but Brian Kelly's squad has an incredibly tough schedule pretty much every season. Criticizing them for playing 12 games when many Power 5 conference teams have multiple cupcake games every season it a bit unfair.

Clemson and Notre Dame are set to kick off at 8 p.m. E.T. Saturday. The game will be televised on ABC.
