Former Notre Dame WR DaVaris Daniels Blasts Brian Kelly For Blaming Loss On Players

DaVaris Daniels, a former Notre Dame wide receiver whose collegiate career ended in the team's 2014 academic scandal, blasted head coach Brian Kelly on Twitter after Notre Dame's loss to Duke.

During his post-game press conference, Kelly said that coaching had "nothing to do" with the team's performance in the 38-35 home loss to Duke. Instead, he argued that the players' lack of energy and passion was to blame. His comments come after weeks of Notre Dame fans calling for the job of defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder, whose unit has struggled massively this season. "Fire VanGorder" chants broke out at Notre Dame Stadium during and after tonight's loss.

That answer did not impress Daniels, who took to Twitter to subtweet his former head coach hard.

After leaving Notre Dame following the academic scandal, Daniels spent the 2015 season on the Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots practice squads. This year, he is playing for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League. We're sure a healthy chunk of the Notre Dame fan base agrees with this sentiment tonight.
