Days after both of his parents tragically passed away, Doug Flutie will call the Notre Dame-Boston College game for NBC, the network announced.
Flutie, a legendary quarterback for the Eagles, has had one of the worst weeks imaginable. On Wednesday, his mother and father both died of heart attacks. His dad, Dick, had a heart attack in the hospital. Less than an hour later, his mother, Joan, had a sudden heart attack. “They say you can die of a broken heart and I believe it,” he said.
The former NFL quarterback has been a part of NBC since 2011. This is his first season as the full-time color analyst for the Fighting Irish’s games.
