247Sports has been doing quick one-on-one with many of the nation’s top recruits recently. Among them is uncommitted guard Enokk Vimahi.
The Hawaiian standout is one of the top available offensive line recruits in the country.
247 ranks him as the No. 132 overall recruit in the class of 2019. He is the No. 8 guard, and second-ranked recruit from Hawaii.
He’s down to three classic powers from the mainland: Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and USC.
The Trojans are considered the favorite to land Vimahi, based on the 92-percent of recruiting analysts who think he will commit there, via the crystal ball. His comments in the video may add to it.
When asked about USC, he called it “every West Coast athlete’s dream school.”
Enokk Vimahi also discussed what stands out about Notre Dame and Oklahoma.
He said Notre Dame, which he visited for the season opener against Michigan, had the best and most “crazy” game day environment. He was also impressed by the school’s knack for developing offensive line talent:
“Notre Dame has a great offensive line legacy that they leave behind. Just this past draft, having two top 10 picks from the offensive line, that’s pretty cool.”
He discussed his relationship with Oklahoma offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh, and expressed his desire to head to Norman.
Nebraska fans might be a bit disappointed by the Huskers bits in here. He said that Husker fans are the “most intense” online, but that Scott Frost’s staff’s recruiting efforts fell off, and that they are the team that “blew it” in his recruitment here.
