The first half of Notre Dame-USC did not go as people expected. The 5-6 Trojans lead the undefeated Fighting Irish 10-7 at intermission.

USC led 10-0 until Notre Dame scored on an Ian Book to Chris Finke touchdown pass late in the second quarter. A Hail Mary attempt on the final play of the half nearly resulted in a Notre Dame touchdown, but Miles Boykin was tackled at the USC 3.

If the Trojans didn't turn the ball over twice in Notre Dame territory, they might be up even more. It has largely been an uninspired effort for the Fighting Irish.

ESPN has released its second half prediction for the game. Despite the first half struggles, the computer likes the Irish.

Notre Dame's win probability remains a shade over 72 percent.

If the Irish lose, you can stick a fork in their College Football Playoff chances, barring mass chaos.

Ohio State and Oklahoma would both be in good position to make the field if they win their respective conference championship games next weekend.
