Urban Meyer’s final game as Ohio State’s head coach was Tuesday, and after, he was asked if he thinks he’ll ever coach again. His answer? “I don’t believe I’ll ever coach again.”
Well, it’s been one day, and college football fans are already wondering if he’s going to change his mind. Meyer’s “dream job” – Notre Dame – could possibly be available rather soon.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reportedly have interest in Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly. Kelly hasn’t commented on the idea of leaving college for the NFL, but it has to be intriguing.
If Kelly were to leave, obviously, Notre Dame would need a new head coach. If the Fighting Irish wanted to talk to him, we’d find out very quickly how much Meyer’s health is playing into his retirement.
When The Kelly-to-the-Bucs rumors popped up, Twitter had a field day. Everyone made the same joke.

In all likelihood, Meyer will take a few years off minimum. He’d catch a lot of heat if he returned to the sport immediately.
That said, the Notre Dame job doesn’t come around every year. We’ll see how it all plays out.
