Everyone’s Saying The Same Thing About Notre Dame Tonight

Brian Kelly of Notre Dame argues with the officials.ARLINGTON, TEXAS - DECEMBER 29: Head coach Brian Kelly of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish speaks to officials in the first half against the Clemson Tigers during the College Football Playoff Semifinal Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic at AT&T Stadium on December 29, 2018 in Arlington, Texas. Three major college football programs are being discussed a lot on social media tonight. The first two, of course, are Alabama and Clemson – the two teams playing in the national title game.

A third team is getting some discussion, too. That team: Notre Dame.

The Fighting Irish are getting some respect in the wake of Clemson’s domination of Alabama in the College Football Playoff national title game.

The Tigers had their way with the Fighting Irish in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Cotton Bowl, topping them 30-3. This caused a lot of people to act like Notre Dame didn’t deserve to be in the playoff.

Those people might be changing their minds tonight, though.

Alabama hasn’t looked much better against Clemson than Notre Dame did.

Is Notre Dame off the hook now or nah?

Notre Dame only allowed 30 entire game to Clemson

— Brett McMurphy (@Brett_McMurphy) January 8, 2019

Yeah. Notre Dame was definitely the problem last week.

— Ralph D. Russo (@ralphDrussoAP) January 8, 2019

Clemson beat Notre Dame by 27.

Clemson’s beating Alabama by 28.

Think it’s obvious Georgia deserved to be in the playoff over Alabama cuz it almost beat Alabama.

— Tom Fornelli (@TomFornelli) January 8, 2019

So…all you “Notre Dame didn’t deserve to be in” people…

— Dustin Schutte (@SchutteCFB) January 8, 2019

Y'all may owe Notre Dame an apology.

— Kevin Flaherty (@KFlaherty247) January 8, 2019

The college football world sends a collective apology to Notre Dame’s football program.

Clemson, meanwhile, is currently thumping Alabama, 44-16. The finish can be seen on ESPN.
