Offensive lineman Luke Jones was heavily recruited coming out of the state of Arkansas in 2018. After spending his first year of college at Notre Dame, he's going home.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday, Jones revealed that he has decided to leave Notre Dame and transfer to Arkansas. He stated that he will be enrolling in the summer.
Jones was a three-star prospect and the No. 516 player in the country as a high school player, per 247Sports. He was rated as the No. 43 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 4 prospect from the state of Arkansas.
His announcement was promptly greeted by many Arkansas fans who were ready to welcome him home.
The addition of Jones gives the Razorbacks their fourth transfer acquisition of the off-season. Arkansas has already added running back Trelon Smith and quarterbacks Nick Starkel and Ben Hicks.
Smith will sit a year while Starkel and Hicks were granted immediate eligibility.
Jones will certainly want the NCAA to give him his eligibility immediately, but he can probably afford to wait.
He'll get his chance to face his former team in 2020 when the Razorbacks go on the road to face the Fighting Irish.
