Notre Dame Officially Introduces Michigan Transfer Freddy Canteen

Freddy Canteen's graduate transfer from Michigan to Notre Dame is official, as the program introduced the newest member of the Fighting Irish today.

Canteen, who has two years of eligibility remaining after he graduates from Michigan with a degree in English this May, will be able to play right away for Notre Dame.

Notre Dame welcomed Canteen today, and he seems pretty excited about his new school.

Canteen and head coach Brian Kelly spoke about the move in Notre Dame's release.

"Freddy will bring some speed and athleticism to our wide receiver group," said Kelly. "We’re excited to get him on campus with our coaching staff and players in preparation for the 2017 season. Freddy is a committed, focused and determined individual, both on and off the field, and our receivers and offense will benefit greatly from his addition.”

"I’m truly honored and humbled for this incredible opportunity," said Canteen. "I’m very thankful to Coach Kelly and his staff for believing in me. I’m excited to start this new chapter in my and can’t wait to get going with my new teammates.”

ESPN's Adam Rittenberg first reported the transfer back on February 11, after the former Wolverine made his visit to South Bend.
