Every year, there are numerous college football games with great endings. But most either lack true “last-second” drama, or simply don’t have national significance. It’s the combination of those two factors that produces instant classics.
Here are the top five college football games of the past decade.
#5 – Michigan 35, Notre Dame 31 (2011) – At the start of the 4th quarter, Notre Dame led 24-7 and seemed to be cruising to an easy victory at the Big House. But Denard Robinson and Michigan rallied to score two touchdowns early in the final period to make a game of it.
With 1:22 remaining on the clock, Notre Dame still led Michigan 24-21 and was looking for one last defensive stand to leave Ann Arbor victorious. Three touchdowns and 21 points later (all in regulation), Michigan had capped an epic comeback after Robinson hit Roy Roundtree for a touchdown with 2 seconds remaining on the clock. It was an unbelievable back-and-forth affair – check it out below.
