#2 – Texas 41, USC 38 (2006) – This game made Vince Young a household name. The 2006 Rose Bowl was also the BCS National Championship.
USC’s offense had terrorized opponents all year, scoring 34 points or more in every single game the Trojans played. While both Texas and USC were undefeated at 12-0, the Trojans were expected to win because of difference-makers on offense like Reggie Bush, Lendale White and Matt Leinart.
But USC’s defense apparently wasn’t ready for Texas’ dynamic quarterback, Vince Young. In the final five minutes, Young put on a performance for the ages and turned a 12-point deficit into a 3-point Longhorns victory. On 4th and 5 with just 26 seconds remaining, Young capped off the comeback with a 9-yard scramble to his right that put Texas on top for good. Check it out below.
