Here's Your Brand New Coaches' Poll, Featuring A New No. 1 Ranked Team

Many people believed that Florida State, the reigning national champion, would have to lose a game to give up its No. 1 spot in the weekly college football polls. That apparently is not the case, as the Seminoles dropped to No. 2 in the nation behind Alabama in the most recent Coaches' Poll, which was unveiled Sunday.

The Seminoles knocked off NC State 56-41, but struggled to contain the Wolfpack for much of the contest, giving up 520 total yards. Quarterback Jameis Winston returned from his suspension and played well enough for FSU to win, but some voters apparently don't believe that his team is still the best in the nation.

Alabama moves to No. 1 despite having an off week - the Crimson Tide last played against Florida two weeks ago. FSU is followed by Oklahoma, Oregon, Auburn, Baylor, Texas A&M, Notre Dame and UCLA - all teams that are undefeated so far this year. Michigan State, ranked No. 10, is the lone team in the top ten with a loss. South Carolina, previously ranked No. 15, is no longer part of the poll. Here's the entire list, via USA Today.
