The former Notre Dame star made his NFL debut on Saturday night.
Roughly a year and a half after tearing up his left knee in the 2016 Fiesta Bowl against Ohio State, former Notre Dame star Jaylon Smith made his NFL debut on Saturday night.
Smith, once thought to be a top-five NFL Draft pick, was taken in the second round of last year's NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. He sat out the entire '16 season while recovering from his injury, which included nerve damage.
The star linebacker took the field on Saturday night for the Cowboys' preseason game against Indianapolis. He looked good.
Smith, who hadn't played in a game in 596 days, played 12 snaps, totaling one tackle on that third down stop seen above.
The Cowboys have big expectations for the young linebacker moving forward.
Dallas opens its regular season Sept. 10 against the Giants.
