Kirk Herbstreit Believes Malik Zaire Injury Will Cost Notre Dame 2 Wins

Notre Dame pulled out a dramatic win this weekend at Virginia on Saturday, but it came at a heavy cost. Malik Zaire suffered a gruesome fractured ankle during the game, and will be out for the rest of the season. With the injury, ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit has already replaced the Fighting Irish in his College Football Playoff field with TCU. He also believes the injury will cost the Irish a double-digit win season.

">@KirkHerbstreit what was your W/L prediction for ND before the season and what is it now after all these injuries?

DeShone Kizer played well in Zaire's absence, going 8-for-12 for 92 yards and two touchdowns, including the game winner. However, Zaire looked to be putting together a big season, and he was obviously the top option for Notre Dame at quarterback. Brian Kelly some tough work ahead.
