ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit was on the call for Notre Dame's win against North Carolina on Saturday afternoon. He came away very impressed with the Fighting Irish.

Notre Dame is now 9-0 on the season with Friday's win over North Carolina. The Fighting Irish topped the Tar Heels, 31-17, on Friday.

Herbstreit said that this Notre Dame football team is "different."

"This Notre Dame football team is DIFFERENT. Nice win fellas. Clark Lea and his defense game ball!" Herbstreit said after the win.

Notre Dame is very much in the driver's seat for the College Football Playoff. The Fighting Irish could probably lose to Clemson in the ACC Championship Game and still make it in.

"Really great win on the road against an outstanding opponent in North Carolina. Prolific offense, our defense was outstanding, especially in the second half. One of those road wins that really shows the metal of your football team. Offense, defense was outstanding. I thought that in all phases, especially in the second half, the way our defense played and then our offense running the ball, throwing the ball, Ian Book was outstanding, Kyren, Javon, and then defensively, Drew White was outstanding. Ade was relentless in the pressure. Then, we're playing without arguably our bellwether player on the back end in Kyle Hamilton. Our safety play was outstanding. Brown and Houston Griffith were outstanding, and certainly Shaun Crawford. Great victory on the road. It gets us to our ninth win and puts us in a great position to clinch an ACC berth in the championship game with one more win. Our guys are looking forward to playing at home next week. Good win," Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly said after the win.

Notre Dame has Syracuse and Wake Forest remaining in the regular season before an ACC Championship Game rematch against Clemson.
