Make no mistake about it, Michigan's dominance of Notre Dame tonight was a total ass-kicking. The Wolverines are up 45-14 late in the fourth quarter.

Notre Dame has been unable to do anything offensively all night. In fact, the Fighting Irish have barely cracked the 100-yard mark for total offense.

In some ways, Notre Dame looked like it didn't even show up. Kirk Herbstreit certainly didn't think they did.

The longtime ESPN analyst, who is calling tonight's game for ABC, ripped the Fighting Irish during the broadcast, calling the performance "embarrassing."

We see no lies in anything Herbstreit said. This is undoubtedly one of the worst losses of the Brian Kelly era.

Now 5-2, Notre Dame has to win out in order to have a shot at a desirable bowl location. If they play like they did tonight over the final five games, they won't be doing much winning.
