St. Thomas Aquinas star wide receiver Marcus Rosemy’s recruitment is on the rise, as we get further into the 2020 recruiting cycle. He just picked up a big offer that can shake up things a bit as well.
Notre Dame came through with an offer for Rosemy a few weeks ago. The Fighting Irish are the 24th program to do so.
Wide receivers coach DelVaughn Alexander made the call during a visit to Florida. Rosemy said he was “shocked and blessed” by Notre Dame’s decision.
“A couple weeks back, coach Alexander came to my school,” said Rosemy. “I got his number and we were texting. Then, the other day I called him two days ago, we were on the phone, and he asked me about going up there to take a visit. We started talking about dates. Then he asked me if I had an offer and I said I didn’t, so he offered me. First off, I’m blessed for that offer. Notre Dame has a really nice history. Getting that offer, I’m just shocked and blessed.”
He doesn’t have a South Bend visit locked in, but it sounds like it may come in March.
With the Notre Dame offer in hand, Rosemy is looking at taking a visit to check out the Fighting Irish in person. In fact, although nothing is officially locked in, he is anticipating a spring visit to campus.
“I don’t know exactly what day, but it’ll be sometime during the spring,” said Rosemy. “I was saying it would be around March 22, but I’m not sure yet.”
Notre Dame joins a pretty competitive recruiting field for Marcus Rosemy.
247 asked him about the programs that are prioritizing him this cycle. Ohio State, Florida State, Miami, Penn State and Florida were the first schools that came to mind for him.
The only early 247Sports crystal ball prediction has him committing to the Buckeyes. Obviously, one analyst’s prediction isn’t worth too much with 10 months until the early signing period.
The site has Rosemy as the No. 26 player in the country, and the No. 1 player in talent-rich Florida. He’s the fourth-ranked receiver in the class of 2020.
