A cringe-worthy gaffe from a Nevada kick returner resulted in an extra two points for Notre Dame.
On a kickoff in the second quarter, Nevada kick returner Ahki Muhammad committed an embarrassing error. Muhammad fielded the Notre Dame kickoff in the end zone, took one step out, re-thought his decision and stepped back and took a knee.
One problem: he had exited the end zone and re-entered, resulting in a safety. The mistake gave the Fighting Irish and 11-0 lead.

This is the second week in a row Notre Dame has scored two points in unorthodox fashion.
It’s been all Irish in the first half. They lead 25-0 at intermission, thanks to a pair of DeShone Kizer touchdown passes and a scoring run by Tarean Folston.
