Newest AP Poll Released, 4 Of Top 5 Teams Reside In SEC West

If there's any question as to which (half) conference rules college football right now, Sunday's AP Poll should settle the debate. Four of the top five ranked teams come from the SEC West - Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Alabama and Auburn. The league also boasts Georgia, an SEC East squad, at No. 9 and LSU at No. 24.

Florida State retained its No. 2 ranking after a controversial victory over Notre Dame. The Irish, previously ranked No. 5, fell just two spots to No. 7 - right behind Oregon. Baylor fell the furthest this week, dropping from No. 4 to No. 12 after losing to previously unranked West Virginia. The Mountaineers, however, are ranked this week - checking in at No. 22.
