Report: 4-Star OT Nicholas Petit-Frere To Visit Notre Dame This Weekend

Notre Dame hosts USC this weekend in a big battle of rivals on the fringes of the top 10. It will also host one of the nation's top recruits for the game.

Nicholas Petit-Frere, a four-star offensive tackle from Berkeley Prep in Tampa, will reportedly be in South Bend for the tilt between the Fighting Irish and Trojans.

Petit-Frere is ranked No. 42 overall by 247Sports' composite rankings, as well as No. 4 among offensive tackles and No. 7 in Florida.

247's Tom Loy broke the news about Petit-Frere's trip to Notre Dame:

Per a source, as well as his high school football coach Dominic Ciao, 247Sports has learned that Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep five-star offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere will be on campus in South Bend this weekend. This will be the second visit to campus for the 6-6, 272-pounder.

Notre Dame has been pushing hard for the nation's No. 10 overall player according to 247Sports for quite some time. Offensive line coach Harry Hiestand, offensive coordinator Chip Long and running backs coach Autry Denson continue to make the Under Armour All-American a priority. Initially the plan was to get Petit-Frere on campus for The Echoes in December, which is Notre Dame's annual football awards banquet, but that visit was moved up so he could check out game day at Notre Dame.

Petit-Frere has number of serious offers. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Ohio State are all said to be hot after him, while Arkansas, Duke, Georgia, Louisville, LSU, Miami, Michigan, NC State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA, and USC are among his many other offers.

247's crystal ball has Florida as the leader with 50-percent of the vote, with Alabama, Notre Dame, and Ohio State running behind the Gators.
