Notre Dame fans have to be irritated with the football program's 7-5 finish after starting the year 6-0. Naturally, some fans lay the blame at the feet of head coach Brian Kelly, and while that may not be unfair, don't expect the Irish to look at making a move any time soon. Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick was asked if Kelly was on the hot seat at all, and his response was very clear.

“He’s on a very cold seat,” Swarbrick said. “… I think the foundation of the program is as strong as it’s been in my seven years here. In terms of the quality of the players, the depth, the services that support football, in terms of strength and conditioning, nutrition, medical services, our facilities, the foundation is in great shape.”

Kelly is 44-20 at Notre Dame, and in 2012, made a run to the BCS National Championship game, where the Irish were defeated by Alabama. While 2014 was probably a frustrating season, there is no way making a move away from Kelly would be wise or justified.
