Report: Notre Dame Running Back Tarean Folston Out For Season With MCL Tear

There were a lot of things for Notre Dame fans to get excited about with the 38-3 Fighting Irish win over Texas. The status of running back Tarean Folston is not one of them. Folston left yesterday's game in the first quarter. That will be the last action the junior rusher sees this year. According to reports, he tore his MCL and will be out for the season.

Folston was very productive for Notre Dame in 2014, rushing for 889 yards and six touchdowns. With his loss, and the absence of Greg Bryant due to academic ineligibility, the Irish are very thin in the backfield. If quarterback Malik Zaire keeps up his stellar play, the Irish will be okay, but this is certainly not good news for Brian Kelly's club.
