The program just announced the news.

Earlier: Notre Dame has suspended sophomore wide receiver Kevin Stepherson and freshman running back C.J. Holmes indefinitely from all football-related activities.

The news out of South Bend puts a damper on a day when Notre Dame inked all 20 of its committed prospects for 2018.

This is the second time this year that Stepherson has found himself in trouble. The Jacksonville, Fla. missed the first four games of the season, reportedly because of a suspension.

Despite missing four games, Stepherson led the Fighting Irish in receiving touchdowns with five, and finished third on the team in receiving yards (359). He also tied for third in receptions with 19.

Holmes appeared in eight games as a true freshman, rushing eight times for 32 yards. He also recorded a pair of tackles.

Notre Dame will play LSU in the Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1 on ESPN.

Update: According to WNDU's Angelo DiCarlo, the pair were arrested Friday night for shoplifting.

Not a good look at all.
